Now normally I wouldn't say I had enjoyed listening to a folky album. But I really like the lyrics and tones of The Pierces - You and I. Which is on amazon here. Again its very cheap - def under rated.
We are stars is a stand out track. The lyrics are beautiful, the kind of ones I could imagine someone getting tattooed or sneakily stealing for marriage vow material. It is here
Guitar is slow and melodic throughout - but expect some southern twang in places!
Touring is happening real soon....ooh and in Brighton. *makes mental note to book tickets* the dates are here
Enjoy (y'all)
Musical procrastination
Revision and work = dull. Listening to music and reviewing it = fun. And life is all about the fun, right? So thats what this is. A little bit of musical procrastination to make the day pass a little easier. Add, comment and suggest away - a new band is always welcomed!

Under rated brilliance
Todays album is by the Blood Red Shoes - Fire Like This. Which can be found on Amazon here
It was released in 2010, and hasn't seen anywhere near the exposure it deserves.
Heavy riffs combined with poppy indie overtones means this album is pretty much timeless. And is basically designed to suit most occasions.
Obviously the best way to listen to it is in a dark (possibly strobe light filled) room, with a beer in one hand, jumping around with countless other sweaty people. It deserves to be cranked up to an 11.

My fave song is Light It Up - which is on youtube here. Big shouting vocals and hip shaking guitar will always have a place in my heart.
Unfortunately they aren't due in the UK anytime soon, but here is their tour dates anyway! Some of you might be lucky enough to get over to Germany....

Laid back riffs for the weekend
The recently released album by Death Cab for Cutie - Keys and Codes is a must have for these late summer evenings. It can be found here.
Euphoric melodies tangle between fast drum beats and haunting piano/guitar riffs to create a sound that just screams "play me at sunset"
I put this on whilst driving home the other day, and it was just a beautiful experience. It actually made motorway driving palatable...
My fave song is the leading track Home Is A Fire, which you can give a little listen to here.
Please go buy this album, you wont regret it. Brownie promise.
(disclaimer - I am not a brownie. But I used to be, therefore it still counts.)
